Many composer service organizations publish lists of opportunities and calls for scores on their websites. Many of these are password-protected for members only, but it is generally possible to read at least general descriptions of the items as they appear.

Opportunities and fellowships for study or work abroad are also available to composers. Here are examples of some of them:

Fulbright Student Fellowships (residencies, typically for one year, with stipend, to live and work in a host country, typically in association with a foreign university or conservatory)

DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst, or German Academic Exchange Service, offers fellowships to study in Germany)

American Academy in Rome (the Rome Prize, a one-year residency offered to composers to work on projects while resident at the American Academy in Rome)
